18 Karat Reggae has been informed that Canadian rapper, Drake, has reached out to imprisoned Jamaican king of the dancehall, Vybz Kartel, for help in writing some dis songs.
Drake is currently in the middle of a heated rap battle and is looking for material that could help to propel him to a victory.
According to Jeffrey Hype who is a business partner and friend of Vybz Kartel, the world boss was asked to write two dis songs for a decent sum of money.
“Yea man, di rapper know she di gaza writing skills sky high, suh him just reach out fi some lyrics that can kill any other rapper. The price is right, so the Gaza don will do the work,” Jeffrey Hype told 18 Karat Reggae.
It is confirmed that Kartel has already started writing the lyrics but up until press time it is not certain if the lyrics has been delivered to Drake as yet.
Kartel is considered by many Jamaicans to be the greatest dancehall lyricist of all time. The deejay is not only a great writer but has also had is fair share of lyrical clashes throughout his career. Not only is Kartel known for his famous lyrical battle with arch-nemesis, Mavado, but he also had lyrical confrontations with Spragga Benz, Shabba Ranks and Alkaline.
So the next dis song that Drake drops in his beef with Pusha, chances are the lyrics are written by Vybz Kartel.
