Alkaline denies being involved in murder police wants to question him about.

Top ranking dancehall artist, Alkaline, is proclaiming his innocence after police investigators revealed yesterday that they want to question him in connection with the murder of a St Andrew man last month.

In a statement released last evening, the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force said it believes Alkaline can assist detectives probing the shooting death of Rohan Morris in Marverly, St Andrew.

The police also asked the entertainer, whose given name is Earlan Bartley, to report to the Police Area 4 Headquarters, located at Harman Barracks in Vineyard Town, St Andrew by 5 o’clock this afternoon.

However, in a message posted to his Facebook page last night, Alkaline declared his innocence, saying he is not involved in any form of illegal activity.

He described the statement released by the police as cruel, vicious and destructive and cautioned the media against spreading rumors.

The 23-year-old entertainer also urged his fans to remain calm.

However, he made no comment about whether he would turn himself in to the police by today’s deadline.
